A look at the current real estate market in St. Michaels and Talbot County...According to the Maryland Association of Realtors magazine, three Eastern Shore counties posted significant increases with year-over-year unit sales in April including Talbot County (77%), Dorchester County (35%) and Queen Anne's County (25%). The National Association of Realtors® also reports that "existing-home sales rose in April and remain above a year ago, while home prices continued to rise". National Homeownership Month
June is National Homeownership Month and United States Secretary of Agriculture Vilsack has announced that this year's theme is "Rural Housing/Rural Jobs". Locally, Maryland has announced expansion of its Maryland Mortgage Program which provides down payment assistance and low-interest loans to qualified home buyers.
